ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville volleyball team had hoped to practice at Justice Center Tuesday afternoon like they normally do. The Bulldogs are preparing for a key Big South Conference road trip this weekend to Winthrop and Presbyterian College.

However, they couldn't practice in Justice Center on Tuesday. That's because the Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden decided to come to UNC Asheville's campus Tuesday afternoon and make a speech.

The Vice President appreciated the volleyball team giving up their practice time and met with the team and Athletic Department officials after his speech.

"I think it was OK to take a day off from practice to meet with the Vice President," commented Bulldog coach Frederico Santos. "We really enjoyed meeting him and for all of us it was something we'll always remember."

Vice President Biden met with each member of the team, asked them where they were from and what they were majoring in. The Bulldogs presented him with a shirt signed by all of the players.
