CLINTON, S.C. - After earning a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Winthrop on Friday evening the UNC Asheville volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Big South Conference opponent Presbyterian College on Saturday afternoon at the Templeton Center on the campus of the Blue Hose.
With the victory the Blue & White fall to 6-15 overall with a 2-3 mark in conference play, while the Blue Hose improve to 7-13 and 4-1 in the Big South.
Freshman Christine Lakatos led the Bulldogs in kills with nine on the day, while senior Anna Moore chipped in eight to Asheville's total. Setter Katie Davis recorded 25 assists with fellow freshman Bryn Pfeiffer leading the team in digs with seven.
Leading the Blue Hose were Presley Mabrey with 14 kills and Rachel Hall with 13. Ashtin Frank added 45 assists, while Mary Trimpe recorded 15 digs to lead PC, moving into third place in program history in in digs in the process.
The Bulldogs will be at home in the Justice Center for their next three matches, beginning with Gardner-Webb next Friday, Oct. 12. The match with the Runnin' Bulldogs is set to start at 7 p.m.
