ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Senior volleyball player Anna Moore is this week’s recipient of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Athlete of the Week at UNC Asheville.
Each week the school selects a BCBSNC Athlete of the Week upon their performance from the previous week's action.
Moore has helped the Bulldog volleyball team get off to its best start in four years with an 8-6 overall record going into this week’s Big South Conference opener against Gardner-Webb Friday night at Justice Center starting at 7 p.m.
The Raleigh native was named MVP of the Western Carolina Invitational (Aug. 30-31) in the first week of the season and has been named to the All-Tournament team at UNC Wilmington (Sept. 13-14) and the College of Charleston Classic this past weekend.
Moore leads Asheville in blocks (1.12), hitting percentage (.343) and is tied for the team lead in services aces (18). She is second in kills (3.12).
