CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – ESPNU has selected the UNC Asheville at Radford men’s basketball contest as its Feb. 13 Big South Wildcard Selection broadcast, it was announced today by the Big South Conference office. Game time will be 7:00pm at the Dedmon Center in Radford, Va., and the contest will switch from its originally scheduled date of Wednesday, Feb. 12 to accommodate the broadcast.
Asheville won last year’s meeting, a 79-61 home win on Jan. 12. The Bulldogs swept the season series in 2011-12, including a 66-56 win on Jan. 2, 2012, which was the last time the teams played in Radford. The Highlanders will look to end a six-game losing streak to the Bulldogs.
UNC Asheville’s appearance will mark the second consecutive season that the Bulldogs will play a regular-season Big South game on ESPNU, while Radford is making its second appearance this season on the 24-hour college sports network. The Highlanders won its previous ESPNU game, an 81-72 victory at High Point on Jan. 10.
The UNC Asheville at Radford game is the second of three Big South ESPNU Wildcard broadcasts this season. ESPNU’s final Wildcard broadcast is Friday, Feb. 28 at 7:00pm, and that selection will be determined three weeks in advance. The three games are part of a League-high four regular-season Conference game appearances on ESPNU in 2013-14.
