ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men’s tennis team will play its final home match of the season Thursday when the Bulldogs host Gardner-Webb in Big South Conference action at the Asheville Racquet Club starting at 2 p.m. Admission is free.


The Bulldogs look to break a four-game losing streak on Thursday. Asheville (7-12, 1-5 BSC) is also looking for its second Big South Conference victory and hopes to make a move in the final BSC standings. Tom Hand’s club finishes the regular season at Radford Saturday morning at 11 a.m. The Big South Tournament is next week at Gardner-Webb (April 15-19).


Asheville has fought hard this season with no seniors on its roster. The Bulldogs have lost four matches by 4-3 scores, including one to league rival Campbell last Saturday.


Josh Swindler leads Asheville in singles victories with 10, while Daniel Kripak and Brett Landau have nine wins each. Alex Croker and Landau have had a great year in doubles with a 12-6 mark.
