HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. – UNC Asheville first baseman Hunter  Bryant will be the starting first baseman for the West squad next Monday night in the annual Coastal Plains League All-Star Game.

The game takes place on Monday, July 14 at Morehead City’s Big Rock Stadium with first pitch slated to be throw at 7:05 p.m.

The rising senior has enjoyed an excellent summer season for the Forest City Owls. Hunter leads the league in home runs (6) and total bases (63).  He is hitting .309 and has played in all 33 games for the Owls this year. Bryant was selected by the coaches, administrators and broadcasters for the game.

The All-Star festivities begin on Sunday, July 13 with the CPL Fan-Fest starting at 5 p.m. Included in that event is a home run derby contest.

Earlier this summer, Bryant was selected to play against the USA Collegiate National Team. He was one of 24 players from the CPL to play in the game on June 22. Bryant went 1-for-2 with a run-scoring double in the contest.
