The UNC Asheville men’s tennis team was honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association yesterday for their work in the classroom.


The Bulldogs were named as an ITA All-Academic team for the fourth straight year. The ITA All-Academic Team award goes to a men’s tennis team that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above for the academic year.


In addition, three members of the Asheville squad earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status. To be named as an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must maintain a GPA of 3.50 or above for the academic year.


The three Bulldogs to be named as ITA Scholar-Athletes are Daniel Kripak, Brett Landau and John Schubel.
