WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sophomore outfielder Joe Tietjen was one of 17 Bulldog baseball players to play summer ball this year. He enjoyed an excellent year for the first-year D.C. Grays club that played in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League.
Tietjen led the Grays in home runs with four and was third in RBIs with 14. He hit .264 and stole eight bases.
Joe was also selected for the league Home Run Derby Contest that was held at Shirley Povich Field in Bethesda, Md. on July 16.
