Editor’s Note: Junior goalkeeper Suzie Zigante was selected to play for the Croatian National Team when they participated in the Balaton Cup Women's International Tournament in Hungary last week. She is winding up her stay in Croatia and this is her final blog

So I am going back to USA today, my journey in Croatia is complete for now. Fingers crossed that I get the chance to come back sometime soon!

This summer I actually tried to quit soccer. What? Really? Why? It’s a long and complicated story. Basically I just felt as though I wasn't good enough no matter what amount of work I did. I was never physically dominant, and even working on that type of stuff I still was worse than most people on the team at running, lifting, etc. I was so frustrated. I didn't want to try anymore, I was burnt out and tired.

But this summer proved to me it doesn't matter that much. Being physically strong and tall helps, but it's not the most important thing. If you can read the game, be in the right places and be technically sound, then you will be alright. That's what I have. In fact here in Europe I feel like that is valued more than physicality.

This summer proved to me I am a better goalkeeper than I thought I was, and I shouldn't give up quite yet. Can’t wait to get back to UNC Asheville and start the season and see all my teammates and coaches again.

By the way there will be no more posts after this thank you everyone for reading!
