Former Bulldog great Alan DeRatt was named to the SAL All-Star Team on Monday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Former UNC Asheville pitcher Alan DeRatt was one of five Asheville Tourists to have been selected to the Southern Division team for the South Atlantic League All-Star Game June 22 at Fluor Field in Greenville, S.C.
DeRatt, who was the Big South Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2008 while pitching for the Bulldogs, has enjoyed an excellent first half of the year for Asheville. He has pitched mostly out of the bullpen and gone 2-1 with a 3.00 ERA for the Class A Tourists. DeRatt has 26 strikeouts and just five walks in 33 innings pitched in 2010. He has earned one save.
