Every week the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) of UNC Asheville will highlight a student athlete who has achieved success off the field, court or course.

This week we are highlighting Joseph Cutting, also known as Joey. He is a rising sophomore on the men's soccer team.

Joey will be spending his summer enjoying various activities, including playing soccer, whitewater rafting and hiking. On top of that he will also be working at his local Italian Restaurant in Waynesville.

Joey is also a helpful member within the community, this summer he was a camp counselor at Camp Merry Times which is a camp for kids diagnosed with cancer. This past year he also volunteered at Hillcrest to help out with the kids there.

After graduation, Joey plans on starting a family and pursue a career with his degree in Business.
