CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Bulldogs dropped their second match at the 2012 Hilton University 49er Invitational on Saturday afternoon, falling to host Charlotte 3-1 (26-24, 25-11, 21-25, 25-20) in volleyball action at the Dale F. Halton Arena.
Meredith Foster and Holly Shelton each tallied a team-high 12 kills, with Anna Moore chipping in 11 to the Blue & White's total. The Bulldogs, who fall to 4-11 on the season, got only six kills from the rest of their offense in the four-set match.
Charlotte improves to 8-3 on the season with the victory.
Freshman setter Katie Davis tallied 30 assists for the Bulldogs, with Moore tallying two service aces. Moore also recorded five blocks defensively for Asheville, with libero Alex Stewart recording a team-best 16 digs.
The 49ers' were led offensively by Bianca Rouse, who tallied 16 kills on the day. Amanda Videmsek added 14 kills and Mireya Braxton recorded 11. Lily Vera tallied 49 assists for Charlotte, and Jenna Litoborski recorded 15 digs.
The Bulldogs will take on Kennesaw State in their final match of the 49er Invitational later today. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
