ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's soccer team is home this afternoon when the Bulldogs host Big South foe Gardner-Webb at Greenwood Field starting at 3 p.m.

Asheville (3-13-0, 1-7-0 BSC) hopes to snap a frustrating five-game losing streak this afternoon. The Runnin' Bulldogs have 3-11-1 overall record and 2-5-1 mark in league play.

How frustrating has this losing streak been? The Bulldogs have scored first in all five of those matches. Three of those losses have been by just one goal, including a loss at Campbell where the Lady Camels scored with 12 seconds remaining in the mach.

Asheville is coming off a 5-2 loss at Charleston Southern Saturday morning. Gardner-Webb knocked off VMI on Saturday, 2-0.

Sophomore forward Kaitlyn Eckert continues to have a great year for the Bulldogs. She leads Asheville in goals scored (8), assists (5) and points (21). She has recorded at least a point in six consecutive games.  Paige Trent, Shenny Lenhart and Amanda Knapp all have four goals for the Blue & White.

Sophomore goalkeeper Heather Muller has 110 saves on the season. Her 110 saves is second best in the Big South and fourth nationally.

The Bulldogs play their final home match of the season on Saturday against league rival Winthrop at 2:30 p.m. This match was originally scheduled for Noon but has been pushed back to 2:30 p.m. The men's team will now play at Noon against VMI.

Saturday's match will be Senior Day. Asheville will honor its four seniors prior to the match as Mary Beale, Hannah Jeske, Elizabeth Keil and Ferriss Roberts will all be recognized for their service to the Bulldog program.
