CLINTON, S.C. - Kaitlyn Eckert scored two goals and added three assists as UNC Asheville finished the 2012 season on a winning note with a 6-3 in Big South Conference victory over homestanding Presbyterian College Tuesday night at Blue Hose Field.

Eckert tied a school record by producing at least one point in nine consecutive games. It ties the record of former Bulldog great Hilary McKay who had a point in nine straight matches in the 2005 season.

Asheville finished the season with a 5-14-0 record and 3-8-0 worksheet in league.

In addition, Amanda Knapp tallied twice for the Bulldogs along with Amanda Dailor and Ferriss Roberts.

"Tonight's win was all about sending our seniors off with a win in their final game as a Bulldog.  The energy was incredible, their effort was high, and everyone contributed to this win," stated Bulldog coach Michelle Demko. "I want to thank the seniors for their commitment to this program. They have been great leaders the entire season. It has been an absolute pleasure watching them grow these last three years. I look forward to them being part of our Bulldog alumni family.

"Tonight was also a huge step forward for our program and Kaitlyn Eckert. With her goals and assists tonight, she ties Hillary McKay for consecutive points in a game," added Demko. "I am extremely happy for Kaitlyn. She has been a terrific goal scorer this season and deserves to be recognized for her work on the field. I would also like to recognize her teammates who have helped her reach this milestone in her career."

The game was tied 3-3 at halftime before the Bulldogs scored three straight goals in the second half to earn the victory.

Knapp scored her first goal of the night 58 seconds into the second half as she scored off a feed from Alex Stradford to put Asheville in front for good at 4-3.

It stayed 4-3 until the 71st minute when Eckert sent a through ball past the PC goalkeeper. Knapp picked up the pass and scored her second goal to push the lead to 5-3.

Asheville sealed the victory in the 80th minute as two seniors fittingly combined to score the final goal of the season. Mary Beale made a nice pass to Ferriss Roberts inside the box. Roberts tapped the ball into the goal for her first goal of the year and a 6-3 Bulldog lead.

In the first half, Asheville rallied twice after trailing by one goal. The Blue Hose jumped in front at 11:03 when Tori Lopez scored on a free kick.

Eckert scored her 10th goal of the season at 23:48, scoring off an assist from defender Erin Ryan to knot the game at 1-1.

Less than five minutes later, Eckert gave the Bulldogs the lead at 2-1 when she scored on a cross from Knapp.

The Blue Hose stormed back and scored two goals in a four-minute span to go back in front 3-2 on goals from Sara Simpson and Rebecca Miller.

Eckert earned her first assist of the night when her corner kick was headed in by Amanda Dailor at 43:31 to tie the match at 3-3.
