Bulldog Swim Team Travels to Georgia Southern on Saturday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville women's swim team travels to Georgia Southern on Saturday for a dual meet with the Eagles starting at 1 p.m. Both teams are members of the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association.


The Bulldogs are 2-4 in dual meets this season. Two weeks ago, Asheville knocked off Lenoir-Rhyne, 75-46 before losing to Limestone, 81-41 in a double-dual meet at Limestone.


Galen Broido led the Bulldogs with three victories in individual events. She won the 1000 Freestyle, 200 Backstroke and 400 Individual Medley. Alessandra Troncoso won both the 100 and 200 Breaststroke. Junior Liz Acker earned her first win of the season in the 200 Butterfly.


"We are excited to compete on Saturday against conference opponent, Georgia Southern.," stated head Coach Elizabeth Lykins. "The team worked extremely hard during winter training, and we look forward to racing again."
