JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Milan Ristic started 2013 with another victory in the 60-meter hurdles at the Niswonger Invitational at East Tennessee State on Saturday.
Ristic took home first against a very tough field in the 60-meter hurdles as he posted a time of 7.93. Milan also ran in the 200 meters and finished fifth with a time of 21.79.
"We had some really good performances today," stated Bulldog coach Jesse Norman. "This is the best we've done at this meet in a long time. We had a lot of top 10 performances and competed very well on the day. This is a great start to 2013."
One of the big highlights on the women's side was Asheville having three runners finishing in the top eight in the mile run. Melanie Kulesz came in third with a time of 5:17.87, followed by Adrian Etheridge at 5:18.59 with Erin Dalton coming in eighth place at 5:20.71.
Sarah Gentry finished fourth in the 800 meters as she posted a time of 2:14.13.
Jennifer Black took 10th in the 5000 meters at a time of 20:06.
The women's distance medley relay team took sixth at 12:35. The team consisted of Melanie Kulesz, Anna Gelbach, Sarah Gentry and Adrian Etheridge.
On the men's side, Asheville had two runners finish in the top 10 in the mile run. Andy Thornburg came in eighth at 4:31.80, followed by Patrick Osborne at 4:31.99.
John Bellard and Cameron Howard both took 10th in the high jump with a leap of 1.83 meters.
The men's distance medley team of Patrick Osborne, Miles Brown, Ryan Catrine and Andy Thornburg took eighth as they posted a time of 10:55.
