UNC Asheville junior guard Brittany Gwyn has been named the Big South Women’s Basketball Player of the Week by College Sports Madness for her efforts this past week, it was announced Monday afternoon.

Gwyn tallied a game-high 19 points for the Blue & White, with six rebounds, three steals and two assists in helping lead the Bulldogs to a 68-65 victory over Furman on Saturday afternoon. Gwyn shot 6-of-11 from the field including 3-for-5 from behind the 3-point line and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line.

The Bulldogs will travel to Spartanburg, S.C., on Thursday evening to take on Wofford College at 6 p.m., and will be home on Saturday at 7 p.m. to take on Eastern Kentucky in Kimmel Arena.
