ASHEVILLE, N.C. -  The UNC Asheville women's tennis team begins a busy week on Wednesday when the Bulldogs host Augusta State at the Asheville Racquet Club downtown starting at 11 a.m. Admission is free.

The Bulldogs (2-3) are coming off a close 4-3 loss to Wofford on Saturday afternoon. The match with the Jaguars is the first of three home matches for the Blue & White this week. Asheville entertains Charlotte on Saturday at 3 p.m., followed by a match with Brevard Sunday at 3 p.m.

This young Bulldog team has been very competitive in the early part of the 2012 season. Asheville is just a break or two away from being 4-1.

"We've competed quite well but when you're young like we are there's going to be some growing pains," admitted head coach Lise Gregory. "We just need to keep competing and get that experience that will help us down the line."
