ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's tennis team earned the second seed for this week's Big South Conference Championships that will be held at the Asheville Racquet Club downtown location starting this Thursday. The Bulldogs will face Presbyterian College at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday in quarterfinal action. Admission is free.
Asheville finished the regular season with a 13-9 overall record and went 5-2 in BSC play. The Bulldogs finished is a tie for second place with Coastal Carolina, but Asheville's 4-3 win over the Chanticleers on Saturday put the Dogs in second.
"We're excited about hosting and competing in this year's tournament," declared Bulldog coach Lise Gregory. "Our guys have done a nice job improving this year and finishing in second place is a real credit to them for their hard work."
Radford is the top seed as the Highlanders went 7-0 in league play and are ranked 75th in the country.
Here is the schedule of this week's matches. The tournament champion will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament.

Match 1: No. 1 Radford vs. No. 8 Gardner-Webb, 8:30 a.m.
Match 2: No. 4 Campbell vs. No. 5 Winthrop, not before 10:30 a.m.
Match 3: No. 2 UNC Asheville vs. No. 7 Presbyterian College, 1:30 p.m. ET
Match 4: No. 3 Coastal Carolina vs. No. 6 Liberty, not before 3:30 p.m. ET
