CLEMSON, S.C. - The UNC Asheville track and field teams have their final meet before the Big South Conference championships when both Bulldog teams compete in the Tiger Paw Invitational at Clemson starting today and finishing up tomorrow.


"We've really had a nice indoor season and posted some great results on both teams," commented Asheville coach Jesse Norman. "This meet will be our final meet before conference and hopefully we build some momentum from this weekend for two weeks."


Both Asheville teams competed at the Hilton Garden Invitational last weekend and had some solid results.


Junior Meredith Foster took ninth in the high jump with a leap of 1.63 meters as she earned a top 10 finish against a very strong field.


John Ballard finished 12th in the high jump on the men's side as he had a jump of 1.88 meters.


The Bulldogs had three runners with strong performances in the mile run. Melanie Kulesz came in 10th with a time of 5:09.80, followed by Erin Dalton in 16th place at a time of 5:12 and Sarah Gentry at 5:14.


In the 3000 meters, Kelsie Rubino placed 16th with a time of 10:30. Kevin Paradise was in the 3000 meters on the men's side and posted a time of 9:01.


Ashlei Clodfelter competed in the long jump and had a jump of 4.91 meters. Courtney Henry posted a jump of 6.01 meters on the men's side.


The women's 4x400 medley came in 15th against a tough field with a time of 4:08. The four runners running for Asheville's A team was Anna Gelbach, Molly Harkavy, Alyssa Lashway and Sarah Gentry.


The men's 4x400 medley team competed and had a time of 3:39. The four men running were Miles Brown, Sebastian Panigua, Patrick Osborne and Andre Robinson.
