CLEMSON, S.C. - Junior sprinter Milan Ristic set a Big South Conference record and finished second in the 60-meter hurdles on Friday to highlight the UNC Asheville track and field teams performance at the Tiger Paw Invitational.


Ristic ran the event in a blazing time of 7.75 and finished a close second to Erik Keddo who ran unattached. Keddo had a time of 7.73.


Other highlights included a strong third-place finish in the women's distance medley. The foursome of Anna Gelbach, Sarah Gentry, Erin Dalton and Melanie Kulesz posted a time of 12:13.83.


Gentry competed against a tough field in the 800 meters as she came in 10th at a time of 2:16.05.


Meredith Foster highlighted the field events with a tie for second place in the high jump. Her leap of 1.65 meters tied her with four other participants.


In the men's distance medley, the Bulldogs came in ninth place at a time of 10:33.99. The distance medley team consisted of Skyler Winchester, Jeremy Gower, Patrick Osborne and Miles Brown.


Rounding out the men's field events, Kurt Hibert finished 12th in the weight throw with a toss of 15.74 meters. John Bellard was 13th in the high jump at 1.85 meters.


Competition begins again on Saturday morning.
