ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's soccer team will have six play dates during the 2013 spring season. The announcement of the spring schedule came from head coach Michelle Demko today.

Asheville hosts The Citadel on Saturday, March 2 at Greenwood Field. They'll play at Wingate on March 23, play in an all-day tourney at Western Carolina on April 16 before traveling to Georgia State to play the Panthers and Kennesaw State on April 14.

The Bulldogs return to Greenwood Field on April 20 to host Western Carolina and then finish up the next day (April 21) with a match against the Alumni.

"This spring schedule will help us continue to grow as a program, as well as individuals.   We will be tested with each opponent, from the very first date through our last weekend of competition," declared Demko. "It goes without saying we want to win every game this spring, but to achieve those results we are going to have to focus on maintaining a competitive mentality for 90 minutes.  This past fall, we played a number of games where we scored first, but we did not do a good job of sustaining the confidence that allowed us to create those goals.

"We are an extremely young team, and I think that piece of the puzzle, that competitive edge for 90 minutes, is going to emerge this spring and carry over into the fall season," added Demko. "I continue to be excited about this team and the future of this program.  The players are as committed as ever to building a strong foundation for success."
