Asheville (3-7-0, 0-2-0 BSC) looks to break a four-game losing streak on Wednesday. The Blue Hose (3-6, 1-1-0 BSC) ended a six-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over VMI Saturday afternoon. Matt Kern’s club fell at Longwood on Saturday, 3-1.
“We are looking forward to taking the field again after a difficult performance this past weekend,” stated Kern. “We hope to show better focus, ball movement, and defending vs. Presbyterian on Wednesday.”
Senior forward Bobby Castro has scored the Bulldogs last two goals. He scored against Longwood on Saturday and tallied against Wisconsin-Green Bay. Wednesday’s match starts a three-game Big South Conference homestand for the Blue & White. Asheville hosts High Point Saturday afternoon and Campbell on Oct. 19.
The Bulldogs look to avenge a heartbreaking 3-2 loss against Presbyterian College in Clinton last season. Asheville won at Greenwood Field two years ago, 4-2. The teams played to ties in 2007 and 2009 in Asheville.
