ASHEVILLE, N.C. – EKU plated six runners in the top of the first en route to an 11-4 victory over UNC Asheville on Sunday afternoon at Greenwood Field, as the Colonels complete the series sweep of the Bulldogs with the win.

EKU improves to 4-6 on the season while Asheville falls to 1-7 overall, having dropped their last seven games in a row.

Senior Eli Miller went 1-for-4 with three runs batted in, hitting his first home run of the season in the bottom of the fourth. Freshman Joe Tietjen picked up his first career hit and first run scored when Kyle Towles drove him in with a double down the leftfield line in the seventh.

Adam Spracklin was credited with the loss to fall to 0-1 after allowing five runs on three hits in just a third of an innings work.

EKU was led offensively by designated hitter Bryan Soloman who went 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored. Third baseman Doug Teegarden was also 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored while second baseman Kenny Hostrander went 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Myles Scott picked up the win in relief for the Colonels, tossing three innings. Scott allowed one run on two hits with a walk and a strikeout.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Tuesday afternoon when they host NC Central at Greenwood Field at 3 p.m.
