ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men’s soccer team is back in action Wednesday when the Bulldogs play their second exhibition game against Charlotte. Wednesday’s match will be held at the Carolina Day Athletic Complex on 2355 Sweeten Creek Road and starts at 5 p.m.

The Bulldogs opened exhibition play Friday with a solid effort against Appalachian State before falling, 2-1. Sophomore transfer Zach Joens scored for Asheville.

“We got better as the match went on against Appalachian State,” commented Bulldog coach Matt Kern. “There’s still plenty of work to do but overall we did some good things against a solid ASU team.”

Asheville faces another tough test against Charlotte on Wednesday. The 49ers are ranked 23rd in preseason polls and went 12-6-3 in 2013. They earned a berth to the NCAA Tournament last season.
