ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women’s swim team held an inter-squad scrimmage at Justice Center pool on Saturday morning as a capacity crowd cheered the 2013-14 Bulldogs.
No scores or times were kept because it was a scrimmage. Head Coach Elizabeth Lykins was pleased with what her team accomplished on Saturday.
“I am pleased with the effort the Bulldogs showed today in the pool,” stated Lykins. “With so many newcomers on the squad, they handled the multiple events and fast-paced meet very well.
“We appreciate the crowd and fan support. As expected, the intimate atmosphere of the Justice Center pool made for an exciting environment,” added Lykins. “We will learn from this meet and hope to make corrections in time for the All North Carolina Invitational in less than two weeks.”
Asheville opens the new season in two weeks (Oct. 4-5) at the All North Carolina Invitational in Greensboro.
The Bulldogs first dual meet at Justice Center pool will be against Radford on Friday, Nov. 8 at 5 p.m.
