ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women’s swimming team hits the road on Saturday to take part in a tri-meet against Campbell and North Carolina A&T at Campbell starting at 11 a.m.
The Bulldogs opened the season last weekend at the All-North Carolina Invitational and posted some solid results.
Second-year coach Elizabeth Lykins is looking forward to Saturday’s action.
“The Bulldogs are excited to travel to conference opponent, Campbell University, for the first time,” declared Lykins. “We look forward to competing again this weekend in our first dual meet format of the season against the Campbell and North Carolina A&T.
“Our new team members are starting to better understand the college meet format, and I'm looking for everyone to have good races this weekend,” Lykins also said.
Last weekend, the Bulldogs finished 10th of 14 teams in Greensboro with 226 points. Highlights included Galen Broido posting a time of 17:54.85 and earning the Bulldogs 23 points in the 1,650 freestyle. Freshman Morgan Dickie finished 13th and scored 14 points for Asheville. She had a time of 18:34.23. Freshman Alexandra van Dorsten picked up 12 points for the Bulldogs in the 100 freestyle. She had a time of 54.37.
