ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's swim team ended its first season in 36 years in style with an exciting 105-90 victory over North Carolina A&T before a standing room crowd only at Justice Center Pool Saturday evening.


The Bulldogs (3-6) with just eight swimmers were able to defeat the Aggies with first-place finishes in eight of 11 events. Galen Broido, Ashley Ireland and Allesandra Troncoso each won two different events for the Blue & White.


Broido picked up a win in the 1000 yards Freestyle with a time of 10:41 Later in the day, the freshman was first in the 100 yard Backstroke as she posted a time of 1:01.69.


Ireland electrified the packed crowd with an exciting win in the 100 yard Butterfly. She came in first with a time of 1:02.24, followed by teammate Elizabeth Acker at 1:05.66.


Troncoso won the 100 yard Freestyle by posting a time of 55.05. She also won the 100 yard Breaststroke at 1:04.69.


Kristen Lawson came up with a win in the 400 Individual Medley by having a time of 5:05.30. Acker earned another second place finish with a time of 5:19.


The Bulldogs put an exclamation point on the win with a victory in the final event of the day in the 400 Freestyle Relay as they had a time of 3:46. The relay team consisted of Ashley Ireland, Eliza Ritchie, Galen Broido and Allessandra Troncoso.
