HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The UNC Asheville women’s swim team is on the road Saturday when the Bulldogs travel to Marshall for a dual meet with the Thundering Herd starting at 11 a.m.

Asheville last swam two weeks ago and defeated North Carolina A&T and fell to Campbell in Buies Creek.

Alessandra Troncoso led the way for the Blue & White as she posted victories in the 100 & 200 breaststroke.  Those were the only races that Campbell did not win on the day when a Lady Camel was in an event. Troncoso captured the 100 in a time of 1:08.41 and the 200 with a time of 2:27.12. She also won the 200 individual medley against North Carolina A&T with a time of 2:16.63.

Galen Broido posted two second-place finishes against Campbell. She took second in the backstroke with a time of 2:15.48 and in the 1000 freestyle at 10:50.98. Ashley Ireland came in second in the 50 freestyle at 25:12.

"This weekend is another opportunity for us to improve in the pool. We are steadily making progress to our ultimate goals and this trip to Marshall will challenge us,” stated Bulldog coach Elizabeth Lykins. “We are looking to build momentum towards our home opener against Radford."

The Bulldogs host Radford at Justice Center Pool on Friday, Nov. 8 at 5 p.m.
