ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The start of UNC Asheville basketball is just a few weeks away, and some great November promotions will help get the season started.

The men’s team under first-year coach Nick McDevitt will play just once at Kimmel in November, an exhibition game against Brevard College on Nov. 4 starting at 7 p.m. Bulldog fans will receive a free basketball poster as they enter the arena that night.

Coach Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick’s women’s basketball team will be at Kimmel four times during November, and each game will feature an attractive giveaway.

The regular-season opener is on Saturday, Nov. 9, against Furman at  2 p.m.  That game will be highlighted by the Bulldog Fan Jam, sponsored by Zaxby's, which will start at noon and continue until tip-off. The fan fest will have activities for all ages, including face-painting and basketball shooting competitions along with bounce houses. In addition, the men’s team will be on hand to sign autographs. The Furman game also will be "Poster Day" for the women's basketball team.

Fans attending the women’s game on Saturday, Nov. 16, against Eastern Kentucky at 7 p.m., will receive a schedule cup. A week later, on Saturday, Nov. 23, fans can get a pom-pom to cheer on the Bulldogs as they face N.C. Central at 2 p.m. November’s final home game, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26 against Bluefield College, will be schedule magnet night.
