Editors Note: With the 2012-13 school year behind us, UNC Asheville's student-athletes will be providing us write-ups to allow everyone to get to know them a little better. Today we meet volleyball player Lisa Riggsbee.
Lisa Riggsbee is a wonderful young lady on the UNC Asheville women’s volleyball team. Anticipating graduating in 2015, she is a Health and Wellness Promotion major with a minor in Psychology. If anyone gets the chance to know Lisa, they would all say one thing: she loves people, and people love her. Her infectious personality is known by countless people all across the campus of UNC Asheville.
In the past, Lisa has enjoyed volunteering at Eliada Homes in Asheville, as well as helping out for the National Women and Girls Day in Sports. She has a jam-packed summer, including studying abroad in Greece and Turkey for three weeks. After studying abroad, she is very excited to be working with Carolina Cross Connection, which is an outreach mission camp that does basic home repairs and ministers to people in Western North Carolina.
After college, she plans on going to graduate school for either physical therapy or sports and exercise psychology. She wishes for any job that will give her the opportunity to help, interact, and love people. She chose UNC Asheville because, “Asheville is such a great city that has given me the opportunity to learn a lot about myself and about people. The atmosphere of UNC Asheville and its endless opportunities are what drew me here.” A fun fact about Lisa Riggsbee… She owns a unicycle.
