Women's basketball player Kelli Riles is this week's Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina Athlete of the Week. This is the first time this year the senior center has earned the award.

Each week the school selects a BCBSNC Athlete of the Week upon their performance from the previous week's action.

Kelli reached two big milestones this past week. On Thursday at High Point, she grabbed her 1,000th career rebound in a loss at High Point.  Riles had 12 points and 11 rebounds in the game against the Panthers. She is just the second player in school history and first player in the Division I era to pick up 1,000 career rebounds.

On Saturday, Kelli earned her 1,000th career point at Campbell.  Riles scored 12 points and collected eight rebounds against the Lady Camels. She now has 1,004 career points and 1,009 rebounds. Kelli is just the second player in school history and first in the Division I era to have 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.  She is just the 15th player in school history to score more than 1,000 career points.

Kelli and the Bulldogs finish up the home portion of their schedule this week. Asheville hosts defending Big South champion Liberty Thursday night at 7 p.m. and then play its final home game Saturday afternoon against Longwood at 2 p.m.
