EARLYSVILLE, Va. – The UNC Asheville men’s and women’s cross country teams finished the 2013 season at the NCAA Southeast Regional held on the campus of the University of Virginia Friday afternoon.


The Bulldogs men’s team finished in 26th place with 750 points, while the women’s squad placed 27th with 747 points.


Red-shirt senior Melanie Kulesz led the Asheville effort on Friday as she finished the 6K course with a time of 21:54.2. Freshman Sarah Heisner took 128th at 22:52.5 Sophomore Erin Dalton came in at 162 as she posted a time of 23:16.8.


Kasey Briggs completed the course in a time of 23:47.1 Scarlett Beamon (23:55.6) and Kylie Smith (24:22.6) rounded out Asheville’s performance on Friday.


On the men’s side, junior Kevin Paradise was the Bulldogs top runner as he completed the 10K course with a time of 32:04.4 and finished 134th. Andy Thornburg took 139th at a time of 32:11.2. Patrick Osborne came in 145th as he posted a time of 32:20.0.


Dominic Collochio completed the course at 32:34.1. Brent Schouler (33:06.1) and Nathan Kirse (34:00) completed the Asheville finish on Friday.
