The women's squad will compete against 26 other teams over the 5K course, while the men's teams will run over an 8K course against those same 26 teams.
Asheville head coach Jesse Norman is looking forward to this meet as it will be the final meet in preparation for the Big South Conference championships that will be held on Oct. 29 at Coastal Carolina.
"We want to keep improving and build some momentum for the Big South Conference meet in two weeks," commented Norman. "This will be a great meet for us to gauge how we're doing and what we need to improve on before conference."
Both teams competed in the Paul Short Invitational two weeks ago at Lehigh University.
Freshman Kevin Paradise enjoyed a great race in the Brown 8K race for the Bulldog harriers. He came in 46th in a field of 382 runners at a time of 26:32. As a time, the Dogs came in 41st place.
Eliud Chirchir was Asheville's next runner at 27:36. Freshman Aaron Martin posted a time of 28:14. Carlos Lopez was next at 29:03, while Adam Schnapp came in with a time of 29:30.
The women's squad competed in the Brown 6K race and came in 34th place. Freshman Adrian Etheridge was Asheville's top runner on the day with a time of 23:25 and 61st finish in the field that featured close to 400 runners.
Clair Powell posted a time of 24:16, while Kasey Briggs had a time of 24:52. Kylie Smith was behind Briggs at 25:08. Alyska Kalmeijer finished with a time of 25:29. Jennifer Black ran the 6K course with a time of 26:34.
