Fourth-year coach Jesse Norman is looking forward to Friday's action. Both squads opened the season two weeks ago at Western Carolina.
"We want to continue to progress and get better," commented Norman. "This should be a good meet for both teams as there will be some excellent team competing."
The women's team did a solid job at Western Carolina as the Bulldogs went to the meet without two of their top runners and finished in fourth place, not too far out of second place.
"Our women's squad ran pretty well at Western Carolina," declared Norman. "We had a nice performance out of Emma Bussard plus our freshmen really stepped up and ran well."
Bussard finished third in the two-mile event at WCU, while freshman Rachel Carson took ninth in her first collegiate meet.
The men's team finished in fourth place as well at Western Carolina but that's not where Norman wanted the Bulldogs to finish that day.
"I'm looking for some big improvement out of our guys at Clemson," commented Norman. "We didn't run as well as we could have at Western Carolina. Hopefully, we'll do a better job Friday night."
There were some bright spots for the men as Carlos Lopez posted a solid time and came in 14th. Freshman Tyler Michael came in 18th.
