ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's cross country team has been honored by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross County Coaches Association this week for its work in the classroom.
The Bulldog harriers were named as a 2010 Division I All-Academic Cross Country team. Asheville was one of 192 teams to have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better in 2010.
"I'm very proud of our team for their work in the classroom," commented Bulldog coach Jesse Norman. "We work very hard as a team to do our best in meets and in practice but we also work just as hard in our academic work. I'm very glad that we have gotten this recognition. It is very deserving."
