BETHLEHEM Pa. - The UNC Asheville men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Paul Short Invitational that was held at Lehigh University on Friday.
Freshman Kevin Paradise enjoyed a great race in the Brown 8K race for the Bulldog harriers. He came in 46th in a field of 382 runners at a time of 26:32. As a time, the Dogs came in 41st place.
Eliud Chirchir was Asheville's next runner at 27:36. Freshman Aaron Martin posted a time of 28:14. Carlos Lopez was next at 29:03, while Adam Schnapp came in with a time of 29:30.
The women's squad competed in the Brown 6K race and came in 34th place. Freshman Adrian Etheridge was Asheville's top runner on the day with a time of 23:25 and 61st finish in the field that featured close to 400 runners.
Clair Powell posted a time of 24:16, while Kasey Briggs had a time of 24:52. Kylie Smith was behind Briggs at 25:08. Alyska Kalmeijer finished with a time of 25:29. Jennifer Black ran the 6K course with a time of 26:34.
Both teams will run again at the Blue Ridge Open on Friday, Oct. 14.
