Asheville (1-15-0, 0-9-0 BSC) hopes to end a tough season on a winning note against a very good Liberty squad. The Bulldogs are looking to end a 15-game losing streak and pick up their first league win of the season. The Flames (8-6-2, 6-1-2 BSC) need a victory to finish in second place in the league standings. They edged Radford Tuesday night, 2-1. Asheville fell at Campbell, 5-1 last Saturday night.
"Liberty is coming off a very good result at Radford and attempting to finish with the #2 seed for the Big South Tournament," stated Bulldog coach Matt Kern. "Our guys have shown a great amount of character and perseverance this season, and I am confident we will play hard until the final whistle on Friday night."
Freshman forward Trey Hemphill has earned a point in three straight matches and now leads Asheville in scoring with two goals, three assists and seven points. Sophomore goalkeeper Dan Jackson has played most of the season and earned 14 starts. He has 83 saves and has topped two penalty kicks, including one at Campbell last Saturday.
