CHARLOTTE, N.C. – UNC Asheville senior men’s soccer player Bobby Castro was named to the Big South All-Academic team Monday night for the second straight year.


Castro made the 10-man team as he led the Bulldogs in points this season with three goals and seven points. He has a 3.80 GPA and is majoring in Health & Wellness.  Castro also made the Capitol One All-District team for the second straight season.


Junior defender Paul Egle earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors. He started and played in all 19 matches for the Bulldogs as he scored two goals and had five points. His penalty kick goal against Coastal Carolina gave Asheville a 1-0 upset victory over sixth-ranked Coastal Carolina on Nov. 2.
