Editors Note: With the 2013-14 school year behind us, UNC Asheville's student-athletes will be providing us write-ups to allow everyone to get to know them a little better. Today we meet men's soccer player, Patrick Phillip.

Patrick Phillip is a rising senior on the UNC Asheville Men’s Soccer Team from Dripping Springs, Texas. Graduating in May of 2015, he is majoring in Environmental Management and Policy, while minoring in Economics. Post-graduation, Patrick plans on attending Law School, in hopes of becoming an environmental lawyer.

Patrick joined the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at UNC Asheville with high hopes of becoming involved in leadership activities on campus. He really wanted to help develop student-athlete-community relationships and improve the quality of experience for student-athletes at UNC Asheville. His fondest SAAC memories from this past year were participating in the Homecoming Parade and winning the campus-wide lip-sync competition. Next year, Patrick would love to help create a community-wide marketing campaign for upcoming matches in order to increase the fan base at all UNC Asheville athletic competitions.

This summer, Patrick will be interning at Hance Scarborough, LLP in Texas. In preparation for his senior season, he’ll also be training hard so that he can help his Bulldog team become the best that it can be. For volunteering, he has helped out at Eliada Homes, while mentoring at Claxton and Hall Fletcher Elementary. He plans on positively influencing the Asheville community to the fullest during his senior year.

Patrick decided to attend UNC Asheville for countless reasons, primarily being that he was given the opportunity to fulfill his dream of playing Division I collegiate soccer. When he visited campus, he fell in love with the city of Asheville and the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Patrick’s successes on and off the soccer field have made the Asheville community proud to call him a Bulldog. Stay tuned this fall in order to watch “Pat” play his final senior season on Greenwood Field. The Disney movie fanatic will certainly help turn some heads with the rest of his Bulldog soccer team!
