ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's soccer team is back in action Thursday afternoon when the Bulldogs host Coastal Carolina at Greenwood Field starting at 3 p.m. in a key Big South Conference battle.

Asheville (3-11-0, 1-5-0 BSC) hopes to move up in the league standings with a win against the Chanticleers (6-7-0, 3-3-0 BSC). The Bulldogs fell at High Point on Saturday, 5-1. Coastal Carolina defeated VMI, 1-0, also on Saturday.
Third-year Asheville head coach Michelle Demko is looking forward to Thursday's match.
"When we play Coastal Carolina, we will need to set the tempo early and maintain a high level of intensity for 90 minutes," stated Demko. "Both teams are looking for another conference win so I expect the game to be full of emotion.
"We are very exciting to watch right now, as we have been playing some of our best soccer," added Demko. "We will need to maintain that focus, and competitiveness, so we can get the result we are looking for tomorrow."
Sophomore forward Kaitlyn Eckert will be looking to score a goal in her fourth straight game on Thursday. Ekcert leads Asheville in scoring with seven goals, four assists for 18 points. Freshmen Paige Trent and Shenny Lenhart have four goals each for the Blue & White. Sophomore goalkeeper Heather Muller has made 97 saves this year and played in every minute of every match.
