CHARLESTON, S.C. - The UNC Asheville women's soccer team hopes to get back on the winning track Saturday morning when the Bulldogs travel to league rival Charleston Southern for an 11 a.m. match.

Asheville (3-12-0, 1-5-0 BSC) will look to end a frustrating four-game losing streak on Saturday. In three of the four losses, the Bulldogs have lost by just one goal. In addition, Asheville has scored the opening goal in each of those four losses.

The Lady Bucs are 5-8-1 on the season and 3-4-0 in league play. CSU is coming off a 2-1 loss at Presbyterian Thursday night.

The Bulldogs fell Thursday at home to Coastal Carolina, 2-1. Kaitlyn Eckert scored early for Asheville to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. CCU scored two goals midway through the second half to record the win.

The goal by Eckert was her team-leading eighth of the year. It also marked the fourth straight game she had scored a goal. If she can score at CSU, Eckert will tie the school record of former Bulldog great Hillary McKay who scored in five straight games in the 2005 season.

The Bulldogs won last year's meeting at Greenwood Field with a 5-0 victory. Asheville has not won at CSU since the 2006 season.

After Saturday's game, the Bulldogs are at home next week for their final two matches of the year at Greenwood Field. Asheville hosts Gardner-Webb on Thursday (Oct. 18) at 3 p.m. and then battles Winthrop on Saturday (Oct. 20) at 2:30 p.m. The Winthrop match has a new time as the teams were originally scheduled to play at Noon.
