ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Winthrop scored three goals in the first 11 minutes of the match and then added another right before halftime as the Eagles went on to defeat UNC Asheville 4-0 in Big South Conference women's soccer action at Greenwood Field Friday afternoon.

The short-handed Bulldogs, with only two subs on the day, was able to shut Winthrop out in the second half. Asheville fell to 1-13-0 on the year and 0-6-0 in the Big South Conference.  Junior midfielder Leiliani Halkiotis fired two of the Bulldogs five shots on the day.
