RADFORD, VA. - UNC Asheville sophomore goalkeeper Megan Dent was named to the Big South All-Academic Team Wednesday night at league's annual awards banquet held at Radford University site of the 2010 Big South Conference women's soccer tournament.

Dent is an outstanding student-athlete both on and off the field. She has made the Dean's List both her semesters at UNC Asheville and also made the Big South Presidential Honor Roll.

On the field this season, Megan was the Bulldogs starting goalkeeper for most of the season. She started in 14 of Asheville's 17 matches and only missed the other matches due to injuries. The Charlotte native made 84 saves on the year and was nominated for Defender of the Week last week when she made seven saves against defending Big South Conference champion High Point on Oct. 29. The Bulldogs fell in overtime, 2-1 against the Panthers but Dent did a great job in the match keeping Asheville in the game.
