ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's soccer team will play the first of first five spring dates Saturday morning when the Bulldogs travel to Wofford for a 10 a.m. scrimmage.

Michelle Demko's club will then host Furman on March 29, play three scrimmages at Western Carolina on April 1 against WCU, Lees-McRae and Brevard. They'll have an Alumni match on April 10 and finish up with matches against Appalachian State and ETSU in Boone on April 17.

"The spring season is essential for our program to continue to grow," stated Demko. " It is where we will see the most growth on an individual and team basis because there is more time we can dedicate to pure technique and functional training.

"There are so many high-quality teams within driving distance, and we took advantage of putting together a spring schedule that will challenge and stretch us to become better with each game we play," added Demko. "Some dates we have more than one game; this is to test our mentality as well as our fitness component. Every player is expected to take a bigger role this spring and really maximize their potential so we can build toward the fall season over these next few months.  I look forward to getting back on the field and watching the team compete."
