"IT'S GAME DAY!!! There is a buzz in the air today because we have a game against a women's club team from Shanghai. This will be a good test for the team and I am excited to see how we play. The team has been split into two, as we will play two 60-minute games. This will allow us to see different personalities, as well as give the players more time to be on the field longer.
We spent the morning in position specific meetings, going over basic principles of play for attacking and defending. It was good to have a quick review of the expectations today because even though today is just a "scrimmage" there is certain goals we hope to achieve from this game. We are currently at the Olympic Training Center, where we just had lunch. Most of the players are in study hall to maintain their work-loads from school and soon we will be off for pre- game meetings. Then it is game time! For the next hour, I will sit and go over two or three things that each player should focus on when camp is over and back at school. Leading up to the Youth World Cup, this year is dedicated on how they can maximize every minute to becoming a better, more dangerous soccer player even when they are not together as a team.
Fingers crossed for a great game. I will update after we play."
"One team, one dream."
