HIGH POINT, N.C. – UNC Asheville women’s soccer player Kaitlyn Eckert was named to 2012-13 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) University Division All-State first team on Wednesday.
Eckert enjoyed a tremendous 2012 season. She finished the year with 31 points on 11 goals and nine assists. Eckert led the Bulldogs in goals, assists and points and her 11 goals were the most scored by an Asheville player in seven seasons. The sophomore forward recorded at least one point in nine-straight games to end the season. Eckert was named second-team All-Big South.
The Knightdale, N.C. native was one of 11 players to be chosen to the first team by a vote of Sports Information Directors in the state of North Carolina.
