Asheville fell to 0-3 on Sunday, with a 7-0 loss at national power UNC Greensboro. The Spartans, coming off a win over #7 Wake Forest, simply had too much for the Bulldogs on the day.

The Bulldogs had played well in their first two matches of the season with a pair of 2-1 losses. Asheville lost at Eastern Kentucky 2-1 on Aug. 17 and then dropped a heart-breaking 2-1 overtime decision to ETSU at Greenwood Field on Aug. 19.

Asheville goalkeeper Heather Muller has played well in the first part of the season with 26 saves in three matches. Amanda Dailor has taken 15 shots on the season.

This is the first ever meeting between the schools in women's soccer programs. USC Upstate is 1-3 on the young season with three matches against Big South Conference schools. The Spartans defeated VMI 1-0 in overtime to open the season but fell to Charleston Southern, 2-1 and Liberty, 4-0.

Asheville returns home on Sunday to face Albany at Greenwood Field starting at Noon.
