ROCK HILL, S.C. - UNC Asheville women's soccer players Kaitlyn Eckert and Heather Muller were honored at the Big South Conference awards banquet Thursday night at Winthrop.

Eckert earned second team All-Conference honors. She finished the year as Asheville's leading scorer with 11 goals, nine assists for 31 points. Eckert ended the season with a point in nine straight games, tying the school record held by Hilary McKay. The 11 goals are the most scored by a Bulldog player in a season since Robyn Busha tallied 11 in the 2005 season.

Muller was named to the league's All-Academic team. She was Asheville's starting goalkeeper as she played in every minute of every match during the 2012 season. Muller made 125 saves this year, second best in the Big South and fourth nationally.
