ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women’s soccer team looks to end a three-game losing streak when the Bulldogs host High Point Wednesday afternoon at Greenwood Field starting at 3 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children.

Asheville (5-8-1, 1-4-1 BSC) fell on the road at defending Big South Conference champion Radford, 4-0 Saturday night. It was the most goals allowed by the Bulldogs this season.


High Point had a 5-8-0 worksheet and 3-3-0 record in league play. The Panthers fell at Liberty on Saturday, 2-0.


Kennedy Garrett leads Asheville in scoring with two goals, two assists and six points. Shenny Lenhart and Amanda Knapp have scored two goals each.


The Panthers own a 9-7-1 series lead over the Bulldogs and won last year’s meeting 5-1. Kaitlyn Eckert scored early for Asheville to give the Blue & White an early 1-0 lead, before High Point scored the next five goals.


The Bulldogs have lost the last three meetings with the Panthers. Asheville’s last win in the series came in 2009 when the Bulldogs edged High Point, 1-0 at Greenwood Field.
